  1. Happy belated birthday, Patrick! And if I may say so, it was so nice to hear Erika's lovely voice and personality on the podcast again. You two are an awesome couple and I love this show idea. One of the greatest things about movies (and it could also apply to music, too) is that we can assign certain titles to represent specific times in our lives. It sounds like you have some great ones there to represent the growth of your relationship, especially with Boogie Nights!

I hope you will continue to do "special" shows in the future, as I always love to hear when you're able to have wider discussions about movies and are not just confined to one title.

  2. Thank you, John! You are so nice to comment!! As soon as we were done recording, I of course thought of all the films I forgot to mention. You are so right about music too. Patrick and I talked about that "off the podcast" earlier that day!

  3. Cute show Bromley's, the "genre" shows are usually a personal favorite of mine. I would very much love to hear the "movies that make us cry (in a good way)" show

The first album my parents ever bought me was the Armageddon soundtrack, and I played "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" NON-STOP. To this day it remains one of my all-time favorite movie theme songs. Thanks for the memories

Happy Birthday Patrick, and thank you Erica for finally bringing some smiles to this grim-fest podcast.

  4. Moral of the story: Love is a warm cock-shot

Please tell me you weren’t joking about crying during 8 Crazy Nights…I don’t want to be the only one.
Erika’s snoring in response to Patrick’s story had me laughing out loud in the car. Great stuff.

I love my Kym for a million different reasons, but her love of movies aint one of them. I’m still the no friends guy going to movies by himself. You are a couple of lucky peeps. But 10 years? What? Were you guys 12 when you got married. Stop making me feel OLD!
Great episode guys. Don't wait so long to come back Erika, you've been missed.

    1. I would never joke about Erika crying during 8 Crazy Nights. It's too specific and crazy to be made up. She cried. Oh did she cry.

Thanks to everyone for the nice words about the show!

  5. Not sure if I can listen to this one, guys... Patrick and Erika have such awesome chemistry even in audio form that just listening to 'em together can make a lone wolf movie fan curse his lack of a fellow wolf movie fan. ;)

  6. Really fun podcast, lady and gentleman. You both seem to really enjoy each other's company...which I guess helps in a marriage.
    Really enjoyed it!
I have a very distinct memory of Boogie Nights. I thought it was great. The dick (penis) shot didn't really seem like that big of a deal...or so I thought. Ten minutes after the movie, I walked out of the theater and into the bathroom. Walked up to the urinal and looked down. That's when it hit me. I have never been the same since. I relate it to when I was about 14 and realized I would never be an astronaut...crushing.
I am looking forward to the anniversary episode!

  7. What? You don't remember EXACTLY the scene with Kevin Bacon's penis in Wild Things? It's been burnt into my memory since I saw it in the theatre - I don't know why it was so shocking, but I'll never forget SPOILER Matt Damon pulling open the shower and there's Kevin Bacon and his at least semi-erect sausage just hangin out there. Dicks just ruin every scene they're in. Dicks.

I really enjoyed the podcast - though my beloved Sascha and Erika have great voices in common (made even better with the new recording equipment), like my brother from another wallaby Brad's wife, a serious love of movies has she not. To be fair, neither did I when we first hooked up - music and playing guitar was how I got my, um, foot in the um, door, so whenever I bring up how much I wished she was more into them, she always protests that loving movies was never part of the deal in the beginning, so it's not fair when I'm all "Patrick and Erika" this and "me and Erika" that. She does love a few though, and I actually just remembered her Almost Famous VHS was one of the first movies we watched together so that's a pretty good start, right? And I don't think it's a coincidence that I proposed to her a mere 19 months after she first saw and also loved Back to the Future (80s movies are an especially tough sell for her).

Always great to hear from Erika - you're alright too, Patrick - you make beautiful podcasts together.

  8. I really love listening to this podcast. Kinda reminds me of when my wife and I would sit around on Friday nights watch concert films and talk about music.

  9. This should of been called Falling in love on the Podcast. I have no idea what Erika looks like but I kinda fell in love with her on this podcast. Sorry Patrick.
Dont worry, I live over 2000 miles away and I dont have beard.
Great podcast guys. I never thought about it before but yeah, what the F does Hugh Grant see in Julia in this film. She is awful. But then again. She is rich, beautifull and famous and maybe Hugh is a bit shallow like that.

Ps best T shirt in a film ever. Your the most beautiful girl in the world. Fancy a shag... ;)
