I've got a habit for hobbits!! Haha!! Almost choked on my coffee.
ReplyDeleteI commend you guys for sitting through these fucking pieces of trash. Every one of them is so aggressively unpleasant, I can't fathom how anyone could enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteDeep Red is probably the best "in" for giallos, in my opinion. The mystery is good, its extremely watchable, if you've seen any Hitchcock or De Palma it wont seem that foreign to you, the characters motivations are clear and its just an awesome movie all around. Also its probably the scariest giallo too - the doll freaks me out. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI keep looking in the header of the films seen looking for the one where Patrick watch's Xtro :)
ReplyDeleteGreat show guys! I own Rumpel. Name the time!
ReplyDeleteMark Jones is furious that Marvel didn't hire him to write and direct Ant-Man.
ReplyDelete"You mean they made a tiny superhero and no one called MJ??" - Mark Jones
Delete"Marvel gave us too much man and not enough ant!" - Mark Jones
DeleteToo much Man not enough Ant!
DeleteSounds like a Matinee pun to me, instead I watched MANT!
Maybe they'll release a 10th Anniversary edition of Mirrors next year you can get Patrick.
ReplyDeleteNow if you'll excuse me I have to go pitch a Small Wonder reboot to Mark Jones.
"I'm gonna call it...SMALLER Wonder!" - Mark Jones
DeleteLeprechaun 3 was the first R-rated horror movie I ever saw. I watched it with a couple friends one summer when we were all 13 years old. That summer we watched the first four Leprechaun movies (completely out of order) and ever since then, I've been a horror fan. So these movies will always have that.
ReplyDeleteWatching them again (and watching the latest three for the first time) was pretty rough. The first three I can tolerate for about half their running times, but by In Space and In The Hood I was legitimately hating them.
Then came Back 2 tha Hood. Maybe it was because my expectations were so low, but I gotta say, I enjoyed that one a fair bit. Then came Origins, but the less said about that the better.
Thank you for taking my suggestion to do these movies, but most of all, thank you for introducing me to so many BETTER horror movies.
Happy Halloween!
Just heard that Mark Jones is in talks for a reboot of Small Soliders.
ReplyDelete"How does Dante keeping getting all my pint-size projects?" - Mark Jones
DeleteThere's above and beyond the call of duty and then there's this podcast! Thanks for this scary movie month,a blast as ever!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!!
I knew Patrick wasn't watching Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood by choice. Looking forward to listening on the road this weekend. I'm sad to see Scary Movie Month end, it's been a blast, thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteBest 'new to me' movies of the month: Phantom of the Paradise, John Carpenter's The Fog and Prince of Darkness, The Babadook, and Blood Rage with an outstanding commentary track. Best re-visits: Candyman, Wishmaster, Day of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw 2, and (of course) A NIghtmare on Elm Street (1984). Lows: I watched some bad stuff as well, but I enjoyed those too, even 'The Babysitter' and 'Slumber Party Massacre' have their moments.
What's Mark Jones's favorite Disneyland ride? Anyone?
ReplyDeleteHave you all thought about doing the Paranormal Activity franchise?
ReplyDeleteTrimark is the house Mark Jones built
ReplyDeleteMy #1 Worst Horror Movie Shorts Award goes to Evil Dead 2's Sarah Berry's zookeeper shorts. The first shorts I thought of.
ReplyDeleteImagine how much more little Fred Tate would have been if Mark Jones directed Little Man Tate.
ReplyDeleteMark Jones NEEDS to listen to this.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a leprechaun movie and I don’t think I ever will but, still, I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Fantastic podcast as always. You guys do an amazing job every time. Thank you for entertaining the shit out of me on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteNo need to end the franchise. Some inspiration for Mark Jones...

DeleteMike, your Macho Man impression is simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteFinally got through these and, like always, had a little more fun watching them then you guys did. I have the opposite reaction watching these in a row. It actually elevates them for me. None of them are good movies but I'm weird. I can enjoy bad things and have fun with them. Thanks for the shout out, Mike! I understand these are terrible so I would never expect anyone to like them. My threshold seems to be different than other people. I will always love these episodes and I hope you never stop doing them! I now hope you intend to do Phantasm every year and forget.
