So I've read the novelization for this movie, because of course I have, and it answers the question of why Mox's brother keeps trying all of the different religions. He's trying to convince his parents he's crazy so they won't make him play football. In fact there's a throwaway line in the movie about him breaking his arm, which the novelization says he intentionally broke so he wouldn't have to play football. I think Patrick's right that the earlier scripts were more like Friday Night Lights, and then they decided to go more teen comedy route. I am so full of useless Varsity Blues knowledge it's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteLoved this episode, and love this movie!
You guys should do Invincible next year, if for no other reason that the opportunity to hear about how much Philly Mark Wahlberg needs to get a fackin' Geno's cheesesteak before he fackin' starves to death, kid.
ReplyDeleteDoug's one scene from ANGEL HEART. ;) I laughed out loud! (And I don't blame you.)
ReplyDeleteGreat podcast guys. Fun to have the band back together. I think we can agree the best moment of the movie is when they oust Kilmer and ran back on the field to the back drop of Nitro (performed by Offspring). All inside jokes aside, I actually really like that moment and really like the movie. The worlds a rainbow :)
ReplyDeleteOk, now I REALLY can't wait for the three of you to tackle Not Another Teen Movie. Please, guys. Pleasepleasepleaseplease.
