I wish I had the ability to watch a movie a second time on its own terms, and not what I hoped it would be. Because Face the Music is not the movie I hoped it would be. Instead it feels interested in existing in the same world as Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.
ReplyDeleteThe filmmaking is definitely flat. It bugged me too, but the rest of the movie made up for it
ReplyDeleteI think I am pretty much on the same page as Heather here. I won't deny that it occasionally felt flat or cheap, but those parts were far outweighed by its charm and earnestness. It has that same seemingly dumb but secretly kind of smart charm of the earlier movies.
