    Half slasher, half pretentious artistry, all mesmerizing.

    If Friday Final Chapter's defenestrations had class.

    This was my first true rewatch of SMM, and man, this thing still rips. It starts feeling kind of offbeat, meandering, and disconnected. Then the way you start to see the POVs approaching an intersection is almost hypnotic--some of the cuts between Regan and Karras scenes are just perfect. It boils up to the payoff beautifully, and the exorcism itself is can't-look-away magic.
