  1. I was trying to think of a good moment from 20 Feet from Stardom when I was making the list for the previous post but couldn't think of one stand out, but your choice is spot on. The tandem retelling between Clayton and Jagger building to the awesome live performance. Wonderful.

  2. I concur with "Let It Go" from "Frozen" being a memorable movie moment for the year. I just went to see it primarily based on (b) how big it roared back over the Xmas holiday (leaping over "Wolf of Wall Street" and three other movies to be a strong No. 2 behind "The Hobbit") and (b) Patrick's recommendation. There's a single-shot during the song that lasts close to 1/2 minute of Elsa's ice castle being built from scratch to chandelier that simply dropped my jaw to the floor. I'm also a sucker for stories about sisters learning to love/appreciate one another (TV's "The Secret World of Alex Mack," etc) and "Frozen" uses all the Disney magic and trickery to give a slightly new spin on this old chestnut.

  3. I saw Philomena the other day and I was as impressed with it as you were JB. I really liked that moment you refer to, but the big impact for me was when Coogan discovers the information about the son and the then Dench comes back to the table. Tears.
