Great podcast! I love the episodes where you discuss a bunch of movies, as it leads to many recommendations. Also appreciate all the extra time it takes to prepare for one like this. I'm always in awe of how many movies you guys have seen.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I grew up watching TNG on TV, the only TNG movie I've seen was First Contact, and that was only a few years ago. I had seen a few of the TOS movies, so I've completed all of those (and rewatched a few) first. I'll get to TNG soon.
Four Brother is awesome. I watched all of Singleton's movie last year when Blank Check covered them, and it was my favourite movie of all of them. It's the role Marky Mark was born to play. And as you said, Chiwetel Ejiofor was just amazing and scary in it. Wish he got more big roles.
You guys mentioned Into The Blue a while ago in a podcast (certainly recommending it), but I watched it after and had a great time. I think I'll hit up Blue Crush tonight. I've been in a surfing movie mood the last few weeks.

DeleteLittle sidenote, another podcast had a running joke about Dennis Quaid in those 2000's movies where he was just sleepwalking through his roles (Pandorum, The Day After Tomorrow, etc.). They would always joke that he was "The most powerful actor in Hollywood", ie. his acting prowess was so powerful, that he had to tone it down and barely act at all, in order to not embarrass/overwhelm his co-stars.

ReplyDeleteWith someone like Fincher, I'm always excited to see a new one of his movies because the highs are so high to me. That's how I know I like him, even if his track record isn't totally as perfect as I'd like it to be.
