Review: I Origins
by Patrick Bromley
No one can accuse Mike Cahill of being insincere as a filmmaker. In his second feature (after 2011's Another Earth), the writer/director tackles God, the soul and predestined love with all the sincerity of an 11-year old boy writing a poem to his first crush. Some of his storytelling is about as sophisticated, too.

Obvious Child - Chicago Critics Film Festival Review
by Patrick Bromley

Willow Creek - Chicago Critics Film Festival Review

They Came Together - Chicago Critics Film Festival Review
by Patrick Bromley
Joke for joke, They Came Together is the funniest movie since 2001's Wet Hot American Summer. That shouldn't be a surprise, since both films are directed by the great David Wain and written by Wain and Michael Showalter. They've done it again.
