Get out and vote!
Today is an historic day in America. If you live in the U.S., please exercise your right to vote. Maybe you don't think it makes a difference. You're wrong. Maybe you think no candidate is worth supporting. You're wrong. And if you don't vote, you're wrong.
To celebrate a day that will, one way or the other, change the course of human history, let's take a look back at our coverage of some political or patriotic movies.

ReplyDelete"Pretty much every single thing in They Live is still relevant today, except there is no internet in They Live. Otherwise, the movie's portrayal of an America in which the 1% (or the 47% for you Mitt Romney fans) control and, in a way, repress much of the country is basically accurate, at least in its biggest, broadest, most satirical strokes." - Yep!
DeleteI'm thinking of watching Lincoln so I can get a nice nap in and not stress too much.
ReplyDeleteWTF IS HAPPENING.
ReplyDeleteI know we'll probably get through this, but I feel like I'm dying a little bit.
ReplyDeleteThere's going to be a ton of interesting movies that come out of this awful event. Movies are greater than Trump.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to watch V for Vendetta now.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one. Shaved head Portman is hot. And dissenting.
DeleteTonight I'm watching They Live and saying a prayer for you all
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
ReplyDeleteGod I love seeing you liberals squirm and whine and cry:-)
ReplyDeleteThis isn't a YouTube comments section. Take your hate-mongering somewhere else.
DeleteSeconded. (Rob's comment, if it wasn't clear)
DeleteThird here, no need for that
DeleteWhat these ^ ^ three said... #Xtroforpresident
Deleteps. Deleted my original comment as i felt it a little too rude and fthismovie is a family friendly place!! :)
Xtro reference! Like it
DeleteXtro for President or Toxi! The Toxic Avenger, any will do
Reading this thread reminds me of the #fthismoviefest Twitter feed halfway through the Explorers.... except this not some weird alien talking gibberish, this is for real. But it's good to have a community to share my bemusement with. Thanks F-Heads. Movies are great, and I love them even more because it is the cornerstone of this community.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to put some sunny positivity out there in these possibly batshit crazy times. (Also to bring it back to F This Movie Fest, Back to the Future was the next movie after Explorers... so if that's any indication, there's something fantastic waiting just around the corner...)
Watched Dave and Matinee to help me cope with things. Dave for the idealistic notion of what a President could do to actually help people. Matinee because I truly feel that we have the capacity to make it through some horrifying stuff and come through it on the other side.
ReplyDeleteAs bad as things could potentially get, I'm thankful for this community and particularly to Patrick who enabled us to accomplish something positive this year with the podcastathon. As much as fear, intolerance, and ignorance appear to be the driving influences for a lot of people right now, it's important to remember that there are still people out there who are willing to pull together to do something good and that at least offers me some solace.
Well said Ross.
DeleteA great post!
